  1. Higher PE Factors Impacting Performance (FIP) Evidence we need from Pupils…..

  2. What pupils need to show evidence of….. Outcome 1 Analyse and evaluate factors that impact on performance in physical activities by: • 1.1 Analysing methods used to identify factors impacting on a performance • 1.2 Evaluating the impact of positive and negative factors on a performance • 1.3 Explaining approaches to performance development based on these evaluations

  3. What pupils need to show evidence of….. Outcome 2 Evaluate the process of personal performance development by: • 2.1 Producing a personal development plan that sets appropriate development targets • 2.2 Selecting methods to record and monitor development • 2.3 Implementing the development plan • 2.4 Evaluating the effectiveness of the development plan and the methods used to monitor development • 2.5 Identifying and justifying decisions relating to future personal development needs

  4. method • Create an individual pupil power point outlining knowledge of outcomes. • 5 power points will be chosen at random to be presented in front of class. • Each pupil will either pass or fail based on the quality of content within their power point. Treat this as if it were a NAB. • Top 3 in class will present at grand final.

  5. Outcome 1 Analyse and evaluate factors that impact on performance in physical activities

  6. 1.1 Analysing methods used to identify factors impacting on a performance • Describe the (investigation) methods you have used? At least one for each factor. Go into lengthy detail to show you know what you are talking about and have actually done it. Some factors may require more than one investigation method to be used. Include: • How did you do it? • What did you hope to achieve from doing this? • What did you find out? (Actual Evidence) • Why did you do it? Reliability?

  7. 1.2 Evaluating the impact of positive and negative factors on a performance • Provide a positive and a negative example from two factors that have affected you in your chosen sport. Give plenty detail of how these affected you, however, make sure you know training approaches to solve stated negatives.(This is needed in 1.3) So choose wisely. Relate all your answers to one activity only. • Describe your own weaknesses and strengths and select one such weakness from a chosen factor to improve. Make your intentions clear in terms of future development and prove this is a major weakness and is hampering your performance in your activity.

  8. 1.3 Explaining approaches to performance development based on these evaluations • Link the negatives you have stated for both factors previously to an appropriate training approach. These approaches must be separate, and you must have one approach for each of the two factors. • Select an approach to solve your weaknesses. • Justify why you have chosen this approach.

  9. Outcome 2 Evaluate the process of personal performance development.

  10. 2.1 Producing a personal development plan that sets appropriate development targets • Create a 6 week development programme to improve your weaknesses from your two chosen factors. Eg, Factor 1 - Physical (CRE) Factor 2 - Mental (Decision Making) • Give a break down of each week and what training you will do. • Include targets in terms of times, scores, success percentages etc for each week.

  11. 2.2 Selecting methods to record and monitor development • Show how you are going to keep a track of what you achieve during training. • Provide two methods of monitoring your development and two reasons why you used this method. One method of development for each factor. • Think about , validity, reliability, repeatability, specificity, ease of use etc.

  12. 2.3 Implementing the development plan • Provide evidence of your actually doing the programme. This can take any form you wish. • Great chance for some video action!!!!

  13. 2.4 Evaluating the effectiveness of the development plan and the methods used to monitor development • Was your plan a success/failure? • How do you know? Provide at least two evaluative points for each factor. • Were your monitoring methods effective? • How do you know? Provide at least one evaluative point about your monitoring method

  14. 2.5 Identifying and justifying decisions relating to future personal development needs • Identify at least two future development areas from two other factors. One for each new factor, Eg, Social – Group Dynamics / Communication, Emotional – Anger. • Justify your selections and state why improving these will enhance your overall performance.

  15. Creating your power point…… • Have an opening slide with a picture of your chosen activity and your name. if you want you can name your power point after your weakness, eg. Developing Aerobic Endurance in Football. • Make sure each strand of the outcome is included in the slide so it is clearly identifiable. Eg1.1 Analysing methods used to identify factors impacting on a performance. (This needs to be on the slide somewhere). • Make your power point as personalised and relevant as you can. • Include video clips, pictures, data, evidence where possible etc. • Be as creative as you want.
