Article IHouse of Representatives Requirements: • Must be 25 years of age. • Must be a citizen for at least 7 years. • Must live in state you represent. Elections: • Every 2 years Responsibilities: • Impose and collect taxes and duties. • Borrow money. • Regulate commerce with foreign nations and among the states. • Coin money. • Establish post offices. • Declare War. • Raise and support an army and navy.
Article ISenate Requirements: • Must be 25 years of age. • Must be a citizen for 9 years. • Must live in state you represent. Elections: • Every 6 years Responsibilities: • Choose their other officers. • Impeach presidents. • Choose a president pro tempore, in the absence of the Vice President.
Article IIPresident & Vice President Requirements: • Must be 35 years of age. • Must be a native born citizen and must have lived in the states for at least 14 years. Elections: • Every 4 years but can serve for one more term. Responsibilities: • Commander in Chief of Army and Navy. • Power to make treaties. • Fill vacancies in Senate.
Article IIIThe Judicial Branch Length of term: • Life with good behavior Responsibilities: • Pass laws • Decide if laws are unconstitutional. • Create torte laws.
Amendment I • Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibit the free exercise there of.
Amendment V • No person shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself.
Amendment XIV • No state shall make laws that deprives a person of life, liberty, or property without due process of law.
