Technology Build (Offline App) Java code to open the file browser of the sdcard User selects the file (text) that needs to be converted to speech Java code that uses IO Buffer to read text Android TTS Synthesize To File function to Save the speech as WAV for future play Android TTS Speak function to speak out the words Android TTS Speech API to convert text to speech

  6. How does it Work? (PDFs – Online App) Cloud Processing Chooses pdf file(s) to play User opens app Converts PDF to TXT Backend Processing: Server Side Text-to-speech conversion on Backend Readable text extracted File parsing Phone Speaks Saves as WAV on Phone for future play

User selects the file (PDF) that needs to be converted to speech Java code to extract TEXT from PDF runs on the Amazon Servers PDF Parser extracts Text from the PDF and returns for further conversion to Speech Internet connection is established between the Java Android code and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud instance
