This amazing man has set the record tremendously high by winning nine gold medals in a single Olympics game. He captured seven at the 1972 Olympics in Munich. Arguably the greatest swimmer and Olympian in history, Spitz is a nine-time Olympic gold medal winner. He set the record for most gold medals won in a single Olympics when he captured seven at the 1972 Olympics in Munich. At IU from 1969-72, Spitz won 13 Big Ten and eight NCAA titles. He set 26 world records and was named the World Swimmer of the Year three times.

8. Our president“Mr. Nixon” President Nixon was born Yorba Linda, California. His mother (Hannah millhouse) was very controlling while his father (Frank Nixon) was sometimes abusive. Despite his troubled family life, Nixon excelled in school. He graduated in the top of his class and received a scholarship to Duke University. After graduation from college he met and married Thelma Catherine Patricia (Pat) Ryan. They have 2 daughters Patricia and Julie. Shortly before WWII, he entered the Federal Government in the office of Emergency Management but soon left and entered the navy practicing law. In 1945, he ran an won a congressional bid. In 1952 he was chosen by Dwight D. Eisenhower to be his vice presidential running mate, they won. In 1969 he ran as the Republican nomination for president and won. In his second run for the presidency in 1972 he was found to be involved in the cover-up of the breaking and entering of the Democratic headquarters at Watergate.

9. His vice president Mr. Agnew resigned and pled no contest to federal charges of bribery and failure to pay his taxes. Later investigators made him turn over tapes which proved he had obstructed justice by blocking a federal investigation into the Watergate burglary. To this date he is the first and only President to choose to leave office during his term. One month after he left office President Gerald Ford gave an unconditional pardon to the former President Nixon.

13. Everything I have learned The things I have learned about the 60’s is the awesome culture and cars. It seems to me that I should have lived in that time because it was wonderful . I think the 60’s was the best because I love the flower power the neat TV shows the wonderful cars . I also learned a lot about president Nixon and his bad child hood .something funny to me is that I thought star trek was a cartoon made two years ago .
