  1. PSIC Grants GIS Needs

  2. Background • NCR Region - UASI grants 2004-2006 NCR Interoperability Program (NCRIP) • Data Exchange Hub • NCRNet • This year DHS grants are by state PSIC • Separate Grants for DC, MD, VA • Still funding DEH and NCRNet

  3. GIS is within DEH Overall Budget • VA Strategy focused on CAD to CAD – leftover funds to go to a “regional map”. • MD and DC have some GIS language

  4. GIS Language in MD and DC • Maryland • The NCRIP Program Management Office will design, develop, test, deploy, and support critical interoperability exchanges (e.g. CAD to CAD, GIS Sharing) between Maryland and regional emergency response organizations. • DC • Grant funds will be expended to "Design and deployment  of DC (MD) incident data to feed a regional common operating map and expand situational awareness and aid communications

  5. Maryland PSIC Investment Justification • Statement of Need • “Standardized Geographic Information Systems (GIS) including MEGIN and EMMA provide situational awareness and will be enhanced and shared with NCR partners through the proposed program”

  6. Strategy • Interoperable Communications Exchanges • Design and development of MD incident data to feed a regional common operating map that expands situational awareness and aids communications
