GOALS:Participants will: • Have clear answers to the following questions: • What are School-Level Expected Indicators • and District-Level Expected Indicators? • How do Expected Indicators move our work around “really big deals” forward (e.g., implementing TPEP, CCSS, and our Instructional Framework)? • Why did Office of Student and School Success transition to the use of Expected Indicators? • What requirements and timelines guide school and district work in Indistar? • What services and resources are available to support this work? • Identify next steps for implementing Expected Indicators.

School Team Requirements Schools will: • Assess all 17 School-Level Expected Indicators by October 30 (plan submission date ). • Craft action plan for at least one Expected Indicator under each Principle by October 30 (plan submission date). • Ensure at least one “active” Expected Indicator for each Principle throughout the year. • Submit school-level evidence of implementation. • Submit plan on Indistar: • October 30, 2013 • February 28, 2014 • May 30, 2014
District Team Requirements Districts will: • Assess, plan, and implement all 13 Expected Indicatorsby May 30, 2014 (plan submission date). • Demonstrate evidence of full implementation of all District-Level Expected Indicators. Evidence will be uploaded into Indistar file cabinet. Protocol: • P1 – Strong Leadership • P2 – Effective Instruction/PD • …
District Required Evidence Principle 1: Provide strong leadership by: • Reviewing the performance of the current principal; • Either replacing the principal if such a change is necessary to ensure strong and effective leadership, or demonstrating to the SEA that the current principal has a track record in improving achievement and has the ability to lead the turnaround effort; and • Providing the principal with operational flexibility in the areas of scheduling, staff, curriculum, and budget.
LIVE! Demonstration in Indistar Demonstrate District-level user interface: • Assess a district-level “Expected Indicator” under Principle 1 • For “full implementation,” upload content to the “file cabinet” • For “no/limited development,” discussion around S.M.A.R.T. goals and resources.

Indistar District-Level Account The Indistar District-Level Account provides: • Access to the 13 District-Level Expected Indicators and “Wise Ways” research, examples, and resources associated with each Indicator • Access to the “Filing Cabinet” feature to upload supplemental evidence • Full (read-only) access to school’s Indistar account (i.e., access to school’s plan and supplemental evidence) • Administrative features and reports to monitor school progress and provide feedback
