  2. When you arrive at the airport • You can either take a taxi (15 Euro or more) to the centre. • Or take the bus ‘Volainbus’; the bus stop is close to the main station. The ticket costs 4.50 Euro and can be purchased on board.

  4. Public transportation • Polo Scientifico is connected to the main railway station and to the city centre by ATAF (orange) bus 57, which usually runs every 15 minutes but is almost always full. • On Monday participants are expected to take the bus 57 to Polo and back. Please buy the ticket (1.20 Euro) in advance and stamp it on board. • The organization will provide 2 shuttle buses (from ALTERINI BUS) from the main railway station (meeting point under the clock) and back, with 54 seats each, from Tuesday to Friday (time schedule on the web page). I (G.B.) will be with the buses on Tuesday morning. • On Friday, after the end of the plenary session, the shuttle buses will pass by the Airport.

  5. Wireless connections • Wireless connection for the parallel sessions (partially in the Physics Department building) needs a form and a picture of identity card/passport(identification required by Italian laws)(this type of registration is now closed). • Wireless connection will be available also in the main seminar room of plenary sessions (no documents required here). A password and instructions will be given at the registration desk.

Schedule (see details on ZEMS page) Monday 16th afternoon: Tracking, Lumi and Trigger parallel sessions Tuesday 17th morning: Offline and CAL parallel sessions Tuesday 17th-Friday 20th: Plenary Tuesday 17th: ZPG 17.00-18.00 (one bus at 17:00, one at 18:00 tbc) Wednesday 18th: Executive Meeting 16.00-17.30 (one bus at 16:30; one at 18:00) Thursday 19th, 2 pm : Special seminar: S.Catani, Higgs production at Tevatron and LHC Also a seminar by A.Proskuriakov on diffractive parton densities. Friday 20th: end at 14 after lunch.

  7. Gala dinner Palazzo Capponi all’Annunziata Wednesday October 18th 20.00. Menu available (in Italian) in the web pages (also description of lunches and coffee breaks). Participants can reach the place just walking from the hotels in the center (close to Piazza San Marco).

  8. Social activities (I) Guided visit to Uffizi: Thursday 19th Walk to the meeting point at Uffizi, “Prenotati” door n.1 . Chiara Genta will accompany the participants. Guide from ALIDIPEGASO. Start at 16.30-16.45. Entrance, reservation and headphones included.

  9. Social activities (II) Guided visit to Duomo and Accademia: Thursday 19th Walk to the meeting point in front of campanile. Chiara Genta will accompany the participants. Guide from ALIDIPEGASO. Start at 16.30.

  10. Social activities (III) Guided visit to San Gimignano and Siena. Saturday 21st. Bus from ALTERINI will leave from the main station (under the clock) at 8.45. Elisabetta Gallo will accompany the participants at the beginning. Guide from ALIDIPEGASO. Expected return to Florence at about 18.

  11. Social activities (IV) • More cities to visit: • Pisa by train (approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes) • - Lucca by train (approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes)

  12. Final remarks • Lodging: Things should have worked reasonably fine. We tried to help some people in dealing with hotels. • Web pages: We will continue to update the documentation.

  13. More final remarks • We tried to solve most of practical difficulties and to organize a fruitful meeting, with entertainment for both participants and accompanying persons, providing a taste of the rich history and art of Tuscany • We look forward to welcome you there soon 
