Oakridge Elementary Instrumental Music Young musicians, helping to create a more harmonious world
Musician’s Responsibilities Show up for your class on time; with your instrument in good condition, your method book, and a positive attitude
Musician’s Responsibilities Inform Mr. Matthews of any problems with your instrument…..ASAP….like: Broken strings Fallen bridges Broken reeds Stuck valves Anything you think is not working right
To be successful……… Spend time with, and get to know your instrument. Practice 15 – 20 minutes each day. Use an accompaniment CD to check your progress. Know your assignment before you leave class each week.
Student Progress & Grading Regular attendance is critical for success Your progress must be checked weekly. Good habits are encouraged; bad habits are eliminated. You compete only against yourself. Weekly and monthly progress assures you of excellent grades.
My Commitment to the Student I will be patient with you. I will understand your situation. I will encourage you weekly. I am committed to your success. Ed Matthews, Band & Orchestra Instructor
