  1. Washington State Future City 2009-2010 Installing Regions in SimCity 4

Step 1: Download Proper Region File • http://www.futurecity.org/resources_simcity-starter-regions.shtm • Contains all required region files to get running • Three Different Sized Regions • Small Region – Good for beginning users • Medium Region – Recommended size for most entries • Large Region – For more experienced teams

  3. Step 1: Download Proper Region File (cont.) • Select the Proper Region file • Save the file to your desktop for easy access • This tutorial will be for the medium city size.

  4. Step 1: Download Proper Region File (cont.) • Open 2010_Medium_City.zip • Click extract all files • Keep clicking “Next” till the extraction finishes.

Step 2: Installing Region File • Open My Documents • Open up “SimCity 4” Folder • Open “Regions” Folder • *** In Windows XP, all SimCity 4 regions are stored in a separate folder under "My Documents\SimCity 4\Regions" or "C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\SimCity 4\Regions“, where User Name is the login name of the computer.

  6. Step 2: Installing Region File (cont.) • Drag/Move the “2010_Medium_City “ folder to the regions folder. That’s it! Now lets see if it works!

Step 3: Opening the Region (cont.) • Note: For the large and small regions the outer cities are already developed allowing you to interconnect with them. • The medium region is blank allowing you to develop them on your own. • You will need to have two interconnections to other cities for max points. • Click an open spot to start your Future City! Large Region in SimCity 4
