Grading Policy • Attend lectures and discussion sessions • Suggested Homework problems are provided with solutions. • The problems are solved and discussed during discussion sessions • No homework submission • There are 5 quizzes based on lecture notes and homework problems • Exams are only on the defined dates and there is no replacement exam.

  3. Grading Policy • Reading assignment is provided every week. Sample quizzes are provided. • Quizzes are at the end of lecture for 20-30 minutes. • Grades: • Quizzes (35%) • lowest grade quiz is dropped • Midterm (30%) • Final (35%)

  4. Questions? • Participate BOTH in class and discussion session • Use NoteBoard to check announcements and submit your questions. • Office hours by TA and instructor • See me during office hour or by appointment (email me at eli@ics.uci.edu) or stop by if I am not busy

  5. First QUIZ • Thursday January 17 • Topic: Chapters 1 and 2 • In class • Duration : 25 minutes
