WORKADAY AMERICA • Theme: New America benefited mainly from agriculture, but included trade, manufacturing, fishing, and from lumber. This gave to a spurt in the growth of America’s economy, but Britain was lacking behind in producing products. The fast-growing colonies eventually traded with foreigners to satisfy their demand.
CAUSES AND EFFECTS • The manufacturing of lumber and others • The effect was one-third of British's marine was created by Americans • The parliament establishing the Molasses act( preventing trade with west Indies) • The effect was American tried to bribe or smuggle. • Artisans and craftspeople were needed to start America • The effect was some colonists with crucial skills were freed from law, if committed crime.
HORSE POWER AND SAILPOWER • THEME: In the beginning 1700s, America developed slowly because of transportation problems which can result in delays of west ward expansion.
CAUSE AND EFFECT • Roads being dirty and deficient • The effect was it took longer and more treacherous to travel • Taverns started up in America as amusement places • The effect was all social class mingled and expanding toward democracy. • Mailing and Postal system started in mid 1700 • The effect was delivery of mail was slow and lacked privacy
DOMINANT DENOMINATIONS • Theme: The clashing of religion in America created two main important churches. The Anglican and Congregational church.
CAUSE AND EFFECT • England imposing the Anglican church upon many colonies. • The effect was the clergymen founding of William and Mary college. • The discussment of establishing an American bishopric. • The effect was the idea was rejected and contributed to rebellions later. • The king authorities controlled the Anglican churches • The effect was Anglican clergymen gave support to their king’s in revolution.
