  2. Filippo Brunelleschi • Filippo Brunelleschi, was an Architect, famous for many different works such as Cathedral of Santa Maria in Florence and rebuilding military fortifications in Pisa Rencine, Castellina, and Rimini. He is remembered as one of the giants of Renaissance architecture.

  3. Early life • Birth Name: Filippo Brunelleschi • YOB: 1377 • POB: Florence Italy • Middle child three kids • Father was a layer • Studied to be a sculptor • Enrolled at Arte Della Seta

  4. The Dome of Florence Cathedral The dome contains over 4 million bricks and the structure rests on a drum not on the roof. Its one of the tallest domes in Florence and is still standing here today.

  5. The CapelladeiPazzi The chapel was built by Filippo for the powerful Pazzi family This is renaissance art because the dome is something that romans invented. Brunelleschi took what was already known and improved upon it.

  6. The church of San Lorenzo A famous church in Florence. This is renaissance because there are columns and domes.
