Stage 1 – AO1: Manage • This section is worth 10 points. You should show evidence of: • Selecting a topic and project aims / objectives • A project plan • Identification of what you already know, what you need to find out and how you will find out • Breaking the question down into smaller questions / sub-topics.
Does watching movies have an effect on viewer’s attitudes towards their life, and if so, what? What is being done to try to improve the lives of racehorses after their racing career? Stage 2 – AO2: Research / Select • This section is worth 10 points. You should show evidence of: • Selecting information from a range of sources • Judging the effectiveness of information sources • Interpreting and applying information in a relevant manner to achieve the project aims
Stage 3 – AO3:Develop & Realise • This section is worth 20 points. You should show evidence of: • Using a range of skills • Working with others • Achieving set objectives • Making changes to the initial project plan if necessary • Communicating findings in an appropriate format
Stage 4 – AO4: Review • This section is worth 10 points. You should show evidence of: • Presenting your project and communicating your ideas clearly and in a professional manner • Summarising your own learning and performance; explaining what you have done and why.
Evidence You should keep any of the following as an ‘appendix’ to accompany your final product / report. They will be marked for A01 and A02. • Initial plans / spider diagrams / tables or charts to show your ideas process • Notes you make / research done from books and internet sources • Questionnaires / surveys/ interviews • List of sources (this will form your bibliography) and evaluation of effectiveness (Can you identify WHO wrote it – expert or not, WHEN they wrote it, WHY they wrote it – what is its purpose? Can you trust that it is ACCURATE, UP-TO-DATE and UNBIASED?) • Production log – fill this in every lesson in as much detail as you can. Note what you have done, what sources you have used, what you have found out, what you need to do next, any changes you have decided to make. You can change the layout of the log you have been sent if you require
