  2. Patient History and Chief Complaint • 28 year old, White Female • Hx of Ovarian Cysts • CC Evaluation of 3rd Molar Impactions, Displacement of Tooth #9 • Patient had previous orthodontic tx during her teens

  3. Lesion Description • Patient presented with slight mobility of anterior teeth • Radiographic examination showed generalized severe root resorption of maxillary anterior teeth and generalized moderate resorption of mandibular anterior teeth

  4. Patient Dialogue • Were you aware of anything abnormal? • Answer: No • Did you have full orthodontic treatment with braces? • Answer: Yes • Do you have any pain or discomfort with any of your front teeth? • Answer: No

  5. Differential Diagnosis • 1) Severe root resorption from previous orthodontic treatment • Hx of orthodontic treatment • Location and appearance • 2) Congenital malformed teeth • Appearance • No history of other trauma

  6. Diagnosis • Severe root resorption due to orthodontic treatment

  7. Treatment • Observe • Patient was advised of poor long-term prognosis of anterior teeth • It was recommended to use special care with those teeth, and be selective when using them (i.e. avoid biting certain foods with anteriors like a whole apple, corn-on-the-cob, etc.) • Future Treatment • Patient was advised that if and when teeth become problematic, they should be removed and implants or an anterior bridge could be possible solutions
