  2. Project Goals • Recommend an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Solution to School Board • Tied to Student Information System (SIS) replacement • Develop Information for future budget

  3. Description • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems form the basic “line of business” technology for the district. • This functionality is currently provided by the CIMS solution from NCS Pearson

  4. Analysis • Current AS/400 is ending it’s production lifecycle • ERP solutions are moving to other technology platforms that offer better functionality and price/performance • This will be a significant expenditure • The ERP system will impact the productivity of many employees

  5. Steering Committee Considerations • Synergy between DMPS and other entities • Functionality provided by current and next generation products • The selection of the solution and the solution implementer • The definition and mapping of core business functions to solution capabilities • The identification of best practices, with openness to new ways of doing things • Setting the stage for successful implementation

  6. Committee Resources • Meeting times will be kept to a minimum • Use of extranet will be maximized • Study teams and working groups will be formed on an as needed basis • Decisions will need to be made about when to engage outside consulting assistance • Allocating sufficient project implementation resources will be critical to project’s success

  7. Procedures • Input from a wide range of stakeholders will need to be received and considered • A weighted decision process will need to be utilized • When to engage project management and quality control resources?
