APT Steering Committee Objective: prioritisation of APT research • Cold recycling (ETB and FB) • Asphalt overlays (comparison) • Suitable materials for intersections • Upgrading of gravel roads With inclusion of: • Vehicle-pavement interaction (impact on design and deterioration models) • Risk assessment (comparative testing)

APT Steering Committee Research Priorities • Cold recycling (ETB and FB) • Verification of permanent deformation and fatigue models for a greater variety of materials • Suitable materials for intersections • Rut resistance of various HMA (combination of mix type and polymer modified binder) • Calibrate wheel tracking test with field performance (APT, LTPP) • Concrete inlays

  6. APT Steering Committee Research Priorities (cont) • Asphalt overlays • APT tests on currently used HMA / seal types to validate their field performance • Develop performance models depending on: • Condition of existing surface, deflections, climate, type of overlay and design criteria
