For his sake I have accepted the loss of all things . . . that I may gain Christ . . . to know him and the power of his resurrection and sharing of his sufferings by being conformed to his death, if somehow I may attain the resurrection from the dead” (Phil. 3:8-11).

  4. Catechized by Christ “to catechize” (Gk.) = “sound down” (echo down)… into the ears, heart. To be catechizedis to let the words/actions of Christ echo deep w/in your heart.  transformed by an encounter w/Christ.

  5. Jesus = “Lord Saves” • Acts 3:1-8 • DISCIPLESused the name of JESUS • to heal and cast out evil spirits (Acts 16:16-18). • Eastern Orthodox:Jesus prayer (mantra): • “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, • have mercy on me, a sinner.” • Book: Way of a Pilgrim.

Christ = Anointed • "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, • because he has ANOINTEDme • to bring glad tidings to the poor. • He has sent me • to proclaim liberty to captives • and recovery of sight to the blind, • to let the oppressed go free, and • to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord” • Luke 4:18-19.

  8. Christ Greek translation of Messiah (Heb.) which means “anointed” with the Holy Spirit.

  12. Mark 8:27-30 • The disciples have seen Jesus: • cast out evil spirits, • cure a paralyzed man • calm a storm, • raise a little girl from the dead, • multiply loaves for 5,000 people • Peter says, “You are the CHRIST.” • Jesus, “Tell no one.” ……. WHY?

  13. “He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and rise after three days.” Mark 8:31-33

  14. Luke 23:35-39  The LEADERS sneered at him and said, “He saved others, let him SAVE himselfif he is the chosen one, the Christ of God.” The SOLDIERS jeered at him:“If you are the king of the Jews, SAVE yourself.” Even one of the CRIMINALS mocked him, “Are you not the Christ? SAVE yourself and us.”

  20. The SANCTITY of the Final Age is already here. “A clear conscience is more precious than liberty or life. I do not understand how you, whose conscience is burdened by the spilled blood of so many innocent people, can sleep at night. I would agree to die a thousand times rather than be free for one second with your conscience.” p. 244, The Catholic Martyrs of the Twentieth Century, by Robert Royal
