Tone and mood The tone is suspenseful because everything keeps getting more and more important. intelligent. This is because the characters are the smartest kids in the world. They diffidently use a huge vocab and figure out plans that are really complex almost right away.
theme The theme is “never stop trying”. This is because Bean is always overlooked for being so small and being just a child. Bean never stops trying because he knows he won’t forgive himself if another of his friends gets killed. He mounts up an army and goes in to save Petra. Whether he actually does is up to you to figure out by reading The Shadow of the Hegemon
Characters Bean-protagonist because he tries to save the world from Achilles and save his fellow battle school students (if you can call them that.) Will he save the world? Read to find out.
characters Petra- protagonist because she doesn't give in to Achilles and tries to sabotage his plans.
characters Achilles- antagonist because he tries to kill Bean and starts a war. He also betrays multiple countries. Lastly he tries to take over the world.
Summary After surviving an attempted assassination, Bean has to find a military strong enough to defeat India and fast or Achilles might take over the world.
Summary This is hard for Bean because he is looked down upon because of his size. He lands a military position under Suriwong, another battle school graduate. He asks for a small strike force to prepare to fight anywhere.
summary After a delay, he receives a strike force of medium talented soldiers. He trains them to accomplish any task thrown at them while still haunted by the worry of another attempt on his life. Secretly, in addition to helping the army, Bean wants to use his strike force to rescue the other battle school grads so Achilles can’t use them for strategies anymore.
conflict Man vs. man: Bean has to get passed the grown ups that underestimate him and create a force to defeat Achilles and prevent him from taking over the world. All while Achilles is trying to kill him and a war is taking place all around him.
