Confederation College • A true access community college with a regional mandate (550,000 sq km) • Focus on supporting learner success • Connected to the communities of NW Ontario • High “KPI” results (employers, graduates, students) • NW Ontario has a higher than provincial average college graduation rate

  4. Significant demographic/social/economic change in Northwestern Ontario • Declining high school population • Increasing proportion of Aboriginal youth • Lower than provincial average high school completion rate • Economic restructuring and increasing (often new)employment opportunities • Provincial/Federal Fiscal Restraint

  5. The opportunities! • Partnerships with school boards and First Nations’ schools to support high school completion and transition to post secondary education • Expand Dual Credit Programming • Co-location of programming
