Today’s session • Overview of, and how to access, e-resources via the HYMS Library tab • Presentation • Opportunity to practise
Two universities - two collections • Core HYMS collections duplicated but local variations • e.g. non-medical collections • this is particularly relevant when undertaking SSCs • Two university/library cards • You are entitled to use both libraries but are not expected to need to for core studies during Phase I
Accessing resources • Most journals are available electronically • Selected eBooks available • Cross search for electronic journals or books available on the Find Book and Find Journals by Title tabs. (This is a new, trial, feature.) • BUT: • Do make sure you use the right eAccount to access a resource when prompted depending where it comes from
E-resource accounts • Three accounts to access the different eJournals, eBooks, databases etc: • Hull Athens - you should have • York Account – you should have • NHS Athens – you should receive via your HYMS email during term 1
