Neil Bazley, Deputy VP Chapters Neil Bazley is a Senior Business Analyst with over 16 years experience in logistics, software development, business analysis and business process management. Neil's prior roles have included software sales, project manager, team lead and of course, business analyst. He is currently a contract business analyst with a focus on business process, business rules and organizational change management in the energy industry. In the business analysis community, Neil has been active as both the Vice President Marketing and Communications and the President of the Calgary IIBA Chapter. He is now the Deputy Vice President Chapters and chairs the Chapter Start Up Committee. Neil holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan. He is also involved in business architecture, business process and organizational change management organizations. To Qualify for the Exams Certification of Competency in Business Analysis™ (CCBA™) Minimum 3,750 hours of BA work, aligned with the BABOK® Guide, in the last 7 years. Starting your Chapter • At this kick-off meeting, identify if there is interest in creating a chapter • Review petition process to the IIBA • Select temporary chairperson for the Chapter • Discuss next steps • Confirm level of interest • Need a minimum 15 IIBA members in good standing • Exchange contact information • Determine next meeting logistics © International Institute of Business Analysis
Starting your Chapter • Complete Chapter petition and Chapter bylaws • Develop bylaws to meet provisions of IIBAbylaws (chapter 6 of chapter start-up kit) • Incorporate local jurisdictional rules for setting up your organization as a not-for-profit professional association • Obtain a letter of assurance from a lawyer that chapter bylaws adhere to laws of jurisdiction • Agree and sign affiliation agreement • Agree and sign license agreement (in process) • Petition IIBA for Chapter recognition © International Institute of Business Analysis
