Fellowship Structure • Henry Ford offers 3 separate year long system-wide fellowships. • Each fellow specializes in a particular area: • Henry Ford Medical Group (HFMG) • Henry Ford Hospital (HFH) • Henry Ford Community Hospitals • A committed senior leader from each area serves as a preceptor to their fellow • Additional support is available through the Fellowship Program Coordinator and Fellowship Director • Fellows are strongly encouraged to explore other areas of the health system through project work, informal mentoring, retreats, meetings, etc.

Fellowship Structure • Orientation (1st 3 weeks) • Meet with senior leaders from all parts of the health system • Establish relationships with senior leaders and identify projects of interest in your area and across the system • Begin to learn about the interrelationships between the diverse elements of the system • Fellowship (Entire year) • Fellows are quickly invited to participate in numerous meaningful and challenging projects which facilitate personal learning and development • Continuously engage in both structured and unstructured learning opportunities • Fellowship Completion • HFHS seeks to train future leaders through its fellowship program • Although post-fellowship employment is not guaranteed, many former fellows have stayed at HFHS and several of these have assumed significant leadership positions within the system

Project-Based Opportunities Past fellow projects include: • Geographic Market Expansion Plan for HAP Networks • Development of Urgent Care Strategy • West Bloomfield Hospital Diagnostic Center & MOB Planning • LEAN OR Efficiency Project • Strategic Planning for Pediatrics and Women’s Health Services • Clinical Portfolio Review for Henry Ford Medical Group • Creation of Financial Dashboards • HFHS Contact Center Redesign • Operational Transition of Acquired Facilities • Physician Compensation and Incentive Design • Patient Case Management Optimization • Interim Administrator Role

Application Requirements Two Parts to the Online Application: • Applicant Information and Resume • Attach Additional Documents • Statement of fellowship and career objectives (500 words maximum) • Three letters of recommendation (at least one from a faculty member if currently enrolled in a graduate program) • Graduate school transcript (official or unofficial copies accepted)
