This training partnership meeting focuses on identifying training gaps and discussing existing training materials and modules in the field of sexual and reproductive health in crises. The meeting aims to improve coordination and sharing of resources among training institutions and centers.

Identifying Training Gaps • What are other training needs for people working in RH in emergencies • ?for whom - service providers ? ?Clinic managers ?community health providers eg; clinical pharmacy management (clinic staff receiving RH kits) module to be developed by UNFPA - policy makers? • .needed for what setting? - Crisis vs non-crisis settings – natural disaster/conflict - Crisis….. Recovery continuum - Protracted emergencies - series of crises over time in same setting • Updating of existing training and modules – how to do this? • Sharing training across regions
Training • Purpose – training to achieve what skill/s ? trainer, coordination, technical, clinical, management skills.... • For whom? - who needs training – policy makers, health service managers, health service providers, health service users • On what? – content/subject matter • How to train? –self, group/team face to face, remote-virtual learn • Provided by whom? - dedicated trainers, technical expert with training skills, field savvy, national-local -international • Where to train/venue? – site of training & setting context – crisis vs non-crisis-natural disaster/conflict; setting in relation to crises-recovery continuum
Training formats….. • Self/Individual Hard copy -Guidelines/Manuals - IAFM Compact Disc or USB memory sticks –compressed – RHRC CD, CMR E-modules – use of software package/s (eg MISP e-module), mobile phone • Group/Team –’face to face’ - Trainees come to trainer at one site for training -workshops – RH coordinators training/SPRINT; group meet -outreach training of modules to complement implementation of MISP - Trainer goes to multiple sites for group of RH providers/trainees or TOTs and trainers move to individual provider/s -Remote training --Virtual training platforms -interactive e-tutorials/discussion
