Medical Terminology When writing down prognosis medical staff have to have a common language Or your medical file would read as: patient complaint was “tum-tum hurt” or “hard stuff was removed from stomach” By using Latin prefixes, roots and suffixes the above conditions can be written in simple terms: dysgastro, gastroplasty
