Move the cursor to cell A1 of the ‘Input’ worksheet. • Click on New Web Query… from the Data, Get External Data menu. • In the New Web Query dialogue box, click on Browse Web… • The web browser will load. • In the web browser, browse to the required website or select from a saved bookmark (e.g. Favorites)
Minimise the browser window and you will see that the URL has been entered directly into the input box. • Click OK • In the last input box, check that the data will be entered into the correct cell and worksheet.
The data will be entered into the spreadsheet. • Note other features of the web page have also been entered.
Highlight the data to be processed. • Prepare the selection for copying by using CTRL + C or the Edit menu.
Move the cursor to the required cell on the Process worksheet. • Select Paste Special.. from the Edit menu. • On the Paste Special dialogue box, select Paste Link.
The data will be entered into the cells from the Input worksheet. • Note that it is the cell reference that has been pasted.
