  5. Registration: Before you start • Purchase an access code in your bookstore or at www.mypearsonstore.ca • ISBN: 0133060160 – valid for 1 year • Get a Course ID from your instructor

  6. Register: First Time User Go to: www.thecanadianneighbourhood.ca Click “Student” under Register

  7. Register: First Time User If you have an access code, please select “yes, I have an access code” option:

  8. Register: First Time User Click “I accept” to indicate that you have read and agree to the licence agreement :

  9. Register: First Time User Create a login name and password if first time user or Enter your Pearson username and password if you have a Pearson account:

  10. Register: First Time User Enter your access code under “Access Code” field:

  11. Register: First Time User Enter the course ID provided by your instructor:

  12. Sign in: Returning Users Click “Sign in” when already registered

  14. Click to Open Your course:

  15. Explore the Canadian Neighbourhood Start by clicking on the Household icon on the left of the screen, then click on the name of any family.

  16. Explore the Canadian Neighbourhood Move between Episodes or Seasons by clicking on the drop-down arrows at the top of the screen

  17. A light bulb by a character’s head indicates new information • Click the plus sign by the Biography to read background info • Some Episodes include highlighted words to click on for definitions, • or Videos or Medical Records

  18. Click the next icon on the left side, Health Care Settings, to read information on the nurse characters

  19. Click the next icon to read the Neighbourhood News, or read Neighbourhood community facts.

  20. Student User Manual The Student User Manual provides a summary of the characters an issues in the Canadian Neighbourhood, as well as basic info on how to navigate the site
