  3. Come into the Light Leaving the “shadows”, knowing they are realized in Jesus • Sabbath festival • Sabbath gave physical rest / Jesus gives spiritual & eternalrest • Passover festival • Manna was temporary sustenance / Bread of Life is eternalsustenance

Come into the Light Leaving the “shadows”, knowing they are realized in Jesus • Tabernacle festival • Water rite recalled the rock that gave water in the desert, & anticipated the messianic kingdom / Jesus is the true Rock, the source of the life-givingSpirit • Lamps gave light to the city during Tabernacles /Jesus is the Light of the world

Come into the Light Recognizing your “shadows” • Doing religious acts instead of following God • Focusing on the scriptures intellectually without applying it • Seeking the material & temporal to satisfy your hunger for purpose, security, and love rather than seeking Jesus • Loving the praise & approval of people rather than loving God

  7. Come into the Light Knowing the Light brings division because - • Those who reject the Light are blinded by it • Those who come to the Light receive sight
