  2. Chalmers and Göteborg University Cooperation via GMV – Centre for Environment and Sustainability about 50,000 students 2,500 faculty and PhD students 3,000 staff 10,600 students 1,600 faculty and PhD students 800 staff

  3. GMV is • a network of ca 400 environmental scientists from Göteborg University and Chalmers University of Technology, Göteborg. • a joint venture between Chalmers and Göteborg University • a meeting point for activities. • a platform for projects.

GAME, Göteborg Action for Management of the Environment A cooperation between universities, research institutes, industry and regional authorities in West Sweden EPSD, European Panel for Sustainable Development A university network for analyses and proposals on the European policy on sustainable development AGS, Alliance for Global Sustainability A university and industry network for global SD projects (Chalmers, ETH, MIT and TU; ABB, Dupont, Ford, STENA, Vattenfall) Examples of GMV networks/projects

  6. ScanBalt Campus A model for a trans-national and trans-sectorial institution based on education, research and development

Project objectives: • Provide a concept for ScanBalt Campus • Initiate the build up of ScanBalt Academy • Create examples of shared curricula • Catalyse the initiation of transnational Knowledge Centers • Establish a media database • Establish a one-stop-entry to SBC • Host a number of workshops and meetings

The strategic challenge of ScanBalt Campus • Reduction of compartmentalisation • Clustering for excellence • Improving university collaboration with industry, hospitals an regional authorities • Attraction of resources for research and education • Improving the balance between demand and present supply and output of education
