Research Question Do people with a high score on the scale for eating in response to negative emotions of the Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire (DEBQ) also show high food intake in response to positive emotions?
Sample Population • 60 College Students • 29 Low Emotional Eating • 31 High Emotional Eating
Procedure • No food intake for 2 hours • Virtual reality room • Random assignments
Procedure • Low to high energy dense foods • Questionnaires
Results “Whereas low emotional eaters ate similar amounts after the sad and after the joy mood condition, high emotional eaters ate significantly more after the sad than after the joy mood condition (1).”
