What do we offer? • Full health science program: • Medical Skills and Services (9th) • Health Science 1 (10th) • Health Science 2 (11th) • Emergency Medical Responder(12th) • Executive Internship (11th and 12th) • Integrated curriculum with core academics • Partnerships that allow real life experiences in health care at BFMC and NSB and Edgewater fire department • HOSA

  3. What kind of students do we have? • All kinds! • Honors/AP • Regular • Active! • Members of all clubs, sports on campus • Band, Showdolls, drama, art, SGA, class officers

  4. Activities • College field trips • Specific health career related events • Shadowing opportunities • Bert Fish Medical Center • NSB and Edgewater Firefighter/ Paramedics • Individual internships • CERT training • Guest speakers • Quarterly Awards

  5. HOSA • Health Occupations Students of America • Co-curricular organization • Student Opportunities • Local, Regional, State and National leadership opportunities • Regional, State and National competitions • Travel!

  6. Requirements for Admission • Interest in a health care career • GPA of AT LEAST 2.8 in 8th grade • FCAT scores of at least 2 (3 or higher is preferred) • No more than 10 absences in 8th grade • No discipline issues • Compete a standard Career Academy Application form and submit to NSB High
