Daft defines in his book "The Experience of Leadership" leadership as a relationship of influence that exists between a leader and his followers in which it is intended to generate change and reach real results that reflect the shared purposes. The elements of this relationship are: leader, influence, intention, responsibility, change, shared purpose and followers. • Another author, Arieu, talks about leadership saying that the person who has the capacity to inspire and include others in a dream is a leader • In Business Administration leadership is the action of carrying out an activity (such as a project) effectively and efficiently within an organization.

Emotionalintelligence and leadership A successful and successful article by Daniel Goleman and Richard Boyatzis published in the Harvard Business Review in 2008 has definitely highlighted the importance of emotional (and social) intelligence for the development of an effective leadership exercise. • Goleman, in his book on emotional intelligence in leadership, also comments on the studies of David McClelland, who was a psychologist at Harvard University and discovered that excellent leaders had a good level of at least SIX EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE COMPETENCIES. • The feeling of freedom that your workers feel to contribute ideas, to be able to innovate without there being too many obstacles or procedures. • How responsible workers feel about the company they work for. • What level of quality in their work do people have, if they perform well in general terms. • If they receive rewards for their performance and how those rewards are perceived • What clarity exists among workers about the mission and values of the company. • What is the level of commitment of workers toward a common goal.
