Recovery Overview • Recovery can be performed when the boot image is operating normally. • If the boot image is broken by any chance, Recovery is not available. In that case, ROM writer equipment is needed. • Recovery files for eMG800 MPB/VOIB128
Recovery TFTP Server Program Install TFTP Server program on your PC and run tftpd32 program (TFTP server program can be downloaded from http://tftpd32.jounin.net/) Set TFTP Server Directory using the browse button (ex: C:\tftp_server) Copy recovery files (u-boot-xxx.bin.c2kimg/c5kimg, fs-release-xxx.yaffs2) to the directory 4. Copy recovery file of Boot File System (fs-release-xxx.yaffs2) to the directory
Recovery Recovery Procedure Connect your PC to MPB/VOIB128 through Serial Port Turn system on and press [Ctrl+C] as quick as to log in boot mode. The boot mode prompt: * eMG800 MPB: ‘eMG800>’ * VOIB128: ‘VOIB128>’ Note) We assume that all recovery processes are done at board in this document.
Recovery To check the current system’s boot environment, run CLI ‘printenv’.
Recovery • Set IP of TFTP server by ‘setenv serverip’ and ‘saveenv’ command. (We assume that MPB has 192.168.123.79 and PC has 192.168.123.112) • 5. Set Boot image name. – “setenv bootname (file name)” • Note) Run CLI ‘saveenv’ if you changed one of recovery file name.
Recovery Update Boot Image using ‘run updateboot’ command Note) This is not necessary if Boot image is not changed. And you should reset your system after updating Boot image.
Recovery 7. Set Boot File System – “setenv bootfsfile (file name)” 8.Update Boot File System Image using ‘run updatebootfs’ command
Recovery 9. Set root file system name – “setenv fsfile (file name)” 10. Update Root File System Image using ‘run updatefs’ command 11. Restart the system when Root File System file is programmed completely
