CSC DQA Status Ken Johns, Venkat Kaushik, Xiaowen Lei (U. Arizona)
CSC DCS DQA Status • Info being written to COOL includes • Low voltage state • 0 for off, 1 for on and -1 for unknown • High voltage state • 0 for off, 1 for on and -1 for unknown • High voltage set points 0 and 1 • CO2 concentration status • 0/1 for outside/inside limits
CSC Online DQA Status • DQ calculator • An algorithm for the DQ calculator exists • CSC group needs to converge on definitions of green, yellow, red states
CSC Online DQA Status • CSC GNAM monitoring • Successfully exercised and used during August 09 muon combined running • A newer CSCGNAM release has small modifications • A second CSCGNAM release (1-2 weeks) will complete implementation of a set of histograms common to online and offline • Need to move root file storage from pc-csc* to pc-tdq* for CoCa archiving to CASTOR • CSC OHP • Successfully exercised (but slow) during August 09 muon combined running
CSC Online DQA Status • CSC DQMF configuration • DQMF segment was not tested during August 09 muon combined running • Request to Michael Schernau to test this in standalone ASAP • However offline tests show it works • DQMF will write two DQ flags (A side and C side) to COOL • Still based on channels found in (which??) hit maps • Will test during upcoming muon combined run • Next version will include some CSC specific DQ algorithms – ready in 1-2 weeks
CSC Online DQ Flags • Now • ROD errors • ROD cluster, strip and ANA cluster strip hit maps • …which algorithms are used? • Soon • Landau distribution fits to cluster charge by layer • … • …which hists and which algorithms? • Additionally we have made provision to write side, chamber, layer DQ flags to the CSC COOL db • Needs to be automated
CSC Online DQA Results • Run 125032
CSC Online DQA Results • Run 125032
CSC Offline DQA Status • CSC Tier0 monitoring • Run 125032 (from August 09 combined run) processed by hand • Significant effort by V. Kaushik and W.C. Park to (again) validate Tier0 monitoring AND CSC/Muon reconstruction • To my knowledge, all bugfixes, etc. have been tested and submitted • Up to K. Black et al. if CSC monitoring and reconstruction will be turned on by default
CSC Offline DQA Status • CSC Tier0 monitoring continued • Nevertheless, Tier0 (and online) monitoring gave the CSC group a fast and informative look at data from the August running • CSC HAN configuration • Complete but not tested • Sent to I. Nomidis for inclusion in the Muon System configuration • Initial DQ checks in place but must write CSC specific algorithms for final checks
Offline CSC DQ Flags • Now using • RDO, PRD and cluster layer and channel hit maps • Precision cluster sampling timing • Algorithms used are Histogram_Not_Empty and CheckHisto_Mean • Soon will add checks for • MPV of precision cluster charge • % bad precision cluster sampling time • Cluster layer hit map occupancy • Cluster strip hit map shape • Segment efficiency • Additionally we have made provision to write these values for side, chamber, layer DQ flags to the CSC COOL db • Can DQ Calculator access these?
Run 125032 • Layer and channel hit maps – side A
Run 125032 • Layer and channel hit maps – side C
Run 125032 • Cluster peak strip charge (top) and total charge (bottom) for A and C sides
Run 125032 • Sample DQ flags from Landau fit Side C (-1 to -16) MPV of fit shown Side A (+1 to +16) MPV of fit shown C: Qsum distribution per layer A: Qsum distribution per layer
Conclusions • DCS • Must converge on green, yellow, red states • Online • Initial DQ check and COOL storage in place • Need to move to “final” DQ checks using CSC specific DQ algorithms • Offline • Initial DQ check in place • Need to move to “final” DQ checks using CSC specific DQ algorithms • Storage of DQ info to CSC COOL db defined • Outstanding question is if/how DQ calculator can access CSC COOL db
