Here are the core lessons for the PHASE 2/Unit 1 post test (Tentative Date is October 24.): • 8 parts of speech • Words that can be different parts of speech. • Ex: “play” • 4 forms of nouns: singular, plural, singular possessive, and plural possessive • 3 cases of pronouns: subject, object, possessive • Fragments, run-ons, simple and compound sentences • Subject and predicate – simple, complete, and compound • This is largely the application portion of the test where students will be writing original sentences. • Ex: Write a sentence with a singular noun as the simple subject of the sentence. • The test will be 2/3 identification and 1/3 application.
