Seminar 1 (2) STUDY SKILLS COPING WITH LECTURES Theproblems with lectures: 1. Length. 2. Lack of a “song and dance routine”. 3. All material is new. 4. There’s great volumes of it. 5. Possibly an uncongenial environment. 6. Gobbledegook. 7. Possibly no student lecturer interaction you are therefore feeling “passive”. 8. Motivating yourself to listen.
Seminar 1 (3) STUDY SKILLS COPING WITH LECTURES Some suggestions: 1. Half time break / take notes / water-re-hydrate. 2. They’re lecturers, not teachers (as at college or School). 3. Take notes. 4. Need to do independent study.
