  1. Anmol’s Scrapbook

  2. Comic Strip •this comic relates to me in some way because I’ve been caught in this moment before. If it’s either me explaining something to my friend’s and they have no idea what I'm talking about , or it’s either them trying to explain something to me , and I get confused so I pretend like I understood . •I chose this Garfield comic because I can also relate to it. I can relate to it because when I'm usually bored, and I have nothing better to do , I think about eating something really good , and in most cases I will end up eating it . •I chose this comic because I thought it was really cute how the little boy was using a ruler to indicate the other boy’s weight . This also showed that he was using his previous knowledge about using a ruler. I can relate to this because sometimes I see kids who try to do something , using there little knowledge about something , but instead doing it in a different way , which show’s that their still growing up and learning .

  3. Straw Tower Reflection Questions What did you find challenging about not being able to use verbal communication? I found being able not use verbal communication while constructing a straw tower difficult because we had to use hand gestures to work as a group and construct the tower. The most challenging part was when using hand gestures wasn’t enough to make the whole group completely understand , so instead we started mouthing words , this later lead us to talk . What are some of the building strategies you used to create your tower? Some of the building strategies we used to create our tower were making sure there was equal amount of weight on the top of the structure to make it stand without falling , at the end we didn’t have much luck with that. We also tried making the base of the tower sturdy and larger than the top because adding to much weight to the top would make it collapse. We weren’t completely successful while making our tower, but instead of leaving the problem, we found ways to make our structure more creative.

  4. Straw Tower Reflection Questions ...continued Did you find that in your group each person began to take on a different role as you worked through your challenge? What were some of the different roles people assumed? Why do you think this happened? In my group, I don’t think anyone of us took on different roles as we worked through the challenge. Instead we all worked on the tower together , fixing anything that needed to be fixed and adding different pieces to it , to make it more creative. We all seemed to add different pieces here and there, and gradually had our vision in mind for our tower. What did your final result look like? Do you think this challenge was really about the product? What do you think was my objective in giving you this assignment? Our final result was a tower with a base , and a rod like structure . From my personal opinion, I think this challenge was more about our communicating skills and how we interacted with other group members. Even though we weren’t able to use verbal communication, using it helped us understand that it is possible to communicate in many other different ways and not just verbally.
