  8. Plot Nathaniel Dunn, is a 13 year old boy with no parents and no money. He moved to America, the new world, in colonial Williamsburg, VA. in 1774. He was forced into indentured slavery during the talk of the war with England. Nathaniel worked for a mean man named Owen. When Nathaniel sells a horse Owen starts kicking Nathaniel and a man named Basil is watching and he says “Stop that”.

  9. Continued Plot Then Basil buys Nathaniel and teaches him how to read, write and play the flute. Basil and Nathaniel must decide if they should fight for liberty as the American Revolution starts. Basil believes that everyone should have the same amount of freedom. Basil is a very warm man.

  10. Problem Nathaniel questions if the Revolutionary War started by Patrick Henry words “Give Me Liberty or give me Death” will hurt slaves like “Moses”. Moses is Nathaniel best friend but Moses is a slave. Moses was fighting for the British for his liberty. But this does not seem correct as something must have been wrong with the Patriot cause.
