Who are we? A department within Facilities and Environmental Services made up of both educators and administrative staff • What do we do? CEOP is responsible for student accommodation planning, enrolment projections, student designations to schools and programs, transportation and engagement of stakeholders (internal and external) • How? • Work with Area Directors /System Principals • System Student Accommodation Plan • Public Participation The Department of Community Engagement and Operational Planning (CEOP)

Plan identifies changes for the 2010-2011 school year • Plan identifies issues and challenges for the up coming 3 years (2010-2013) • Reports on changes to: • School attendance areas • Grade configurations • Designations System Student Accommodation Plan
Provides pertinent information to CBE Administration and other Service Units in a timely manner regarding: • accommodation planning • transportation and delivery • enrolment reporting • facility utilization • design and construction of new or modernized facilities System Student Accommodation Plan
Directors collaborate with the Community Engagement and Operational Planning (CEOP) team to decide which accommodation issues need to be addressed in the coming year. • Accommodation planning incorporates changes that are encountered during a year. • At times changes can result in new accommodation challenges added to the plan. • Is updated annually in a report to the Board of Trustees in June. Community Engagement with stakeholders is a part of accommodation process (EL 14 E). • The Community Engagement and Operational Planning Team- • seeks input from stakeholders related to accommodation challenges • provides access to available supporting data • provides opportunities for providing feedback and asking questions • suggests alternatives through developing scenarios • communicates with the broader community Community Engagement and Operational Planning Team (CEOP)
Many decisions are made by Directors. • Changes resulting in recommendations for the consideration of closure of a school or program must be decided by the Board of Trustees. Decision Making
