The story so far... • The ambition was to increase e-procurement in Denmark using the public sector as a driver. • Legislation • February 1st 2005 • It became mandatory that all invoices to the public sector have to be sent electronically • Infrastructure – for exchanging invoices • VANS since 2005 • Scanning agencies • Digitize paper based invoices (OCR) • Invoice standard • OASIS Universal Business Language, version 0.7

The IndFak Project • Procurement of one system to support all eInvoicing and eOrdering in the Danish government • Based on Best Practice for eSourcing • Shared solution, but also legislation, shared tendering and adaption of sector wide best practice • Integrated with most commonly used ERP (95%) • 2011 goals: • 2/3 procurement with digital ordering • 2/3 invoice-to-order match
Objectives • Digitalize and make effective the end-to-end process from procurement to invoice and payment. • Creating a homogeneous basis and harvest the benefits of joint governmental procurements • The system to be used by 150+ governmental institutions; In-voice module is obligatory while the procurement module is optional • Implementation Q4 2009 – Q3 2010. • Total cost reductions are estimated at 69.000 mill. kr. ann.

The benefits of EasyTrade standards • One single standard for the end-to-end process • Standardized guidelines for vendors • Selection of profiles comprised of sets of documents • Single end-point registration • Its still not plug and play, but a mayor step towards harmonization of the Danish e-business marked
