Why is this needed? • Staffing: • Retention of existing officials • Recruitment of new officials • Improved game coverage: • Better experience for participants • Better experience for officials
How can you help? • Criteria to be a Mentor: • USSF Grade 8 official • 2 years experience as a referee • Knowledge of LOTG • Correct mechanics & positioning • Ability to provide positive feedback • Attend a training session: • Thursday, 3/6/14, 6:30pm-8:30pm or • Tuesday, 3/11/14, 6:30pm-8:30pm • Boise First Community Center • 3852 N. Eagle Rd., Boise, ID 83713
How will this work? • Process: • Assigned via Arbiter • $10 per “slot”, included in regular game pay cycles • A “slot” is 2 games simultaneously on adjacent fields, one ½ each • Documentation required: • Hard copy to new official being mentored • Soft copy to Assignor & Mentoring Coordinator
Is it making a difference? • ISRC to review documentation post-season • Survey for new officials that had mentoring • “Most Improved” award
