Reminder ECAL/HCAL
PreShower timing processing revisited Photo de la carte Front-End Herve fully simulated the TRIG-PGA (rooting step not included). Internal structure has been improved (safety options) : BOTTOM and LEFT neighbour generation need, each another, 2.5 clock cycle more. Known since building 156 common tests Need to measure the “real” timing with a scope/logical analyzer
Two strategies can be used for determining the PRS/SPD latency for ECAL data : • According to BCID values : • Synchronize ECAL trigger BCID with the DAQ BCID (do the same for PRS/SPD trigger BCID) • Aligning ECAL data with PRS/SPD component consists in aligning BCID values. • (same method used for ECAL & HCAL, see 22th April Patrick’talk) • According to data values : • Delay RAMs injection, triggered by a L0 signal, in order to compensate the different latencies before injection RAM. • Aligning the different data by injecting RAM. Summary & perspectives The main task of the 2 last weeks : aligning PRS/SPD with XCAL in the TVB • The PRS TRIG-PGA timing model has been revisited and is now well understood by the users : the trigger processing required more 6 clock cycles than the previous expectations. • Delay between PRS & ECAL in TVB has been performed in 2 steps : • before RAM injection : + 5 clock cycles expected (need to be confirmed) • after RAM injection : + 12 clock cycles, expected & measured • A delay of 17 clock cycles is needed (TVB cannot currently compensate it) • Possibilities to reduce this delay without programming the component : • use TVB pipelines instead of FE-PGA pipelines : 17 14 clock cycles
