Psalm 119:25-32 DALETH (daw-leth) – door; curtain to tent – entrance to relationship with God; entrance into the plan of God. The sins that destroy the Christian life are not sins of doing, but sins of thinking. The Lord Jesus Christ is our Door – John 10:7, 9; Hosea 2:15. Yahweh’s word revives, strengthens, encourages, & corrects the one who pays close attention to it.

Psalm 119:33-40 HE (hay) – window; lattice – new perspective. Speaks of the mental attitude of the person viewing life; looking out the window of your life with Divine viewpoint; looking out the window toward eternity. Sometimes the window is clear; sometimes it is foggy (from mental attitude sins)! Cf. vs. 37. The psalmist asks Yahweh to teach him His word, to revive him by it, and to motivate him by it so he will reverence Yahweh & live righteously.

Psalm 119:33-40 Vs. 34 – “understanding” – bin(H995) (TWOT 239) – to separate mentally; discernment; insight. • Refers to knowledge which is superior to the mere gathering of data. • It is necessary to know how to use knowledge one possesses. • It is power of judgment & perceptive insight, & is demonstrated in the use of knowledge. • It emphasizes an attentive observation or consideration. • It is a gift from God (Dan. 2:21) (biynah) (H999). • While a gift of God, it does not come automatically – the possession of it requires a persistent diligence (Prov. 2:1f.)
Psalm 119:33-40 Vs. 34 – “keep” – natsar(naw-tsar’) (H5341) (TWOT 1407) – to watch over; guard; keep; protect. “observe” – shamar (H8104) (TWOT 2414) – to keep; guard; observe; heed; to exercise great care over. Doctrine of Guarding
Psalm 119:41-48 WAW (wow) or VAV – hook; nail; peg – the Word of God is the hook on which a believer hangs his life in Phase 2. Denotes stability. Doctrine of one day at a time. The psalmist asks that he may experience Yahweh’s lovingkindness (chesed) & deliverance, & he knows that Yahweh’s word provides security, answers, a way of life, delight, & the message to tell others.
