Raccoon • homes • Food • Night • Water • Hibernate in winter • summer winter gain weight\ • (9)
Temperature • 75 ˚F = 24 ˚C • But it gets higher depending on the elevation of the forest 86˚F = 30˚C
Plants that exist in temperate deciduous forests • Common Lime • American Beech • White oak • Pecan (4) 1. 1. 1. 1.
Common Lime The common lime tree is a tall and big tree that grows limes. It can live up to 500 years, when the tree is young its bark is very smooth and grey, when it grows the bark becomes white. (4.)
American Beech • Air • Big leaves • Branches • Not a friend to Carbon Monoxide • Shades the ground (Hard for plants to grow there) • Needs a lot of moisture • (4)
White Oak • Has many habitats • Whitish gray bark • If untouched can live up to 500 to 600 years old • (4)
Pecan • Made into furniture • Feeds natives with its nuts • Likes human climates/summer • Leaves grow in groups of 7 or 9 • (4)
