ICT Manpower is essential. 1980, we had 850 IT professionals. By 1985, we need 5000. What did we do? Scholarships were introduced to attract the talented youngsters.
1982-1983, Tertiary Schools started IT Departments Tertiary schools introduced new IT diploma & degree courses.
And not forgetting the working professionals Continual IT education for working adults & course for mid-career switch.
1998, Singapore ONE, the National Broadband programme was launched Government gave S$200M. Not for building a network, but to subsidisebroadband subscription.
