  2. Replacement of the Chair Bernhard Buckle, DLR, expressed his demission from the chair, before the WGISS-19 meeting. At the WGISS-19 meeting, JAXA offered their plan to provide a human resource for the position. Shinobu Kawahito, JAXA/RESTEC succeeded the DSTT Chair after this April.

  3. Profile of Data Service Task Team (DSTT)

  4. Objectives To serve as a forum for exchanging technical information about web based service technologies and software of interest to the CEOS community. This includes “Web services” technologies in general and GIS based “Web mapping services” These technologies are to leverage • Easier access via Internet to EO data, • Enrich web based EO data services, • Promote wider use of dispersed stored EO data.

Task Team Focus Technology Research • Monitoring new service technologies for future EO data services. • Development and coordination of data services concepts and technology among member agencies. • Technology infusion for member agencies and outreach to external technical groups. • Construction of web based and interoperable service systems by adopting standard technologies. • Implementation of web based access to international Earth observation data catalogs and data services systems. System Development

Ongoing Activities Task Team closely observes and interacts with > OGC and ISO standardization activities > OGC testbed development • OGC update (Allan Doyle, NASA/EOGEO) • Sensor Web Enablement (Mike Botts, UAH) • WGISS Menu (Wyn Cudlip, BNSC) • Web technology updates (Allan Doyle NASA/EOGEO, Michael Burnett NASA, Suresh Ramachandran NASA) • Web Services Categorization (Michael Burnett, NASA) • Agency Data Services <OGC, XML Web Services, Semantic web, etc.>(ALL)

Achievement Several significant activities have been achieved in relation to the development of geo-spatial standards: Task Team Reviewed and provided comments on • ISO 19119 (Services) • OGC WCS (Web Coverage Service) version 1.0 • OGC OWS (OGC Web Services) version 1 By the contribution of the members
