Social Climate Inclusive programs support a healthy, non-violent physical and social environment for children and youth to promote pro-social skills. Preventive programs promote awareness and positive attitudes. Culture and communication reflect a shared vision and demonstrate a respectful and caring community. Responsive to the diverse needs of individuals.
Instructional Supports • Programs enhance knowledge, skill development, respectful behaviours and attitudes in violence prevention. • Instruction offers a continuum of services, responding to the needs of individuals. • Examples of instructional programs can range from one hour sessions, 6 week workshops or individual instruction. • Help adults (all who touch children’s lives) understand their role in violence prevention.
Comprehensive Social Supports • Services that assist children and youth in making healthy, non-violent choices. • Offer specific interventions to prevent the further occurrence of bullying behaviour or victimization. • Continuum of social supports to address individual needs.
