CDOT is responsible for city street, alley, sidewalk, curb and gutter construction and maintenance; bridge construction, operation and maintenance; public way inspections; bicycle and pedestrian planning and facilities; signs and pavement markings; and planter and median construction and maintenance.
Each year, CDOT awards contracts for hundreds of millions of dollars worth of work in communities throughout Chicago. • Throughout the year, there are myriad opportunities for contractors to work on CDOT projects as either a prime or sub. • The opportunities vary from construction and maintenance to design and landscaping.
