Measurable Annual Goals should be: • Statements that describe what a student with a disability can reasonably be expected to accomplish within a twelve month period • Skills and/or knowledge that will be mastered, not an activity • Observable-a behavior that can be seen or heard • Measurable-requires an observer to do something (count, weigh, watch, etc.) in order to evaluate the student’s progress
Annual Goals Must Include • Timeframe- the amount of time in the goal period • Condition-the manner in which progress occurs • Behavior-identifies the performance that is being monitored • Criterion-identifies how much, how often, or to what standard the behavior must occur to demonstrate achievement
