Status of functions and features planned for Spiral 3 • On track with plan • At GEC 10 demo: • IMF’s PSM and MH communicated using pS query • GEC8 demo and before – used proprietary (arbitrary) XML-RPC interaction • MH integrated new pS service “IMFRealTime” (based on “skeleton” service of pS) – field pS queries, trigger measurement • Code released on wiki • Now: • “IMFRealTime” updated to subsume true MP+MA (with database) functions: more versatile pS queries • pS queries can be sent by clients without going through IMF • All measurements, triggered, scheduled, in database • Next: • Integrate proposed MDOD • Restore XML-RPC pathway • OMF for control pathway, ORCA integration (later) July 28, 2011

Connectivity planned for Spiral 3 • Continue with BEN-ORCA connectivity • Integrate into LEARN • Tools: planned for Spiral 4 • Allow experimenter to see measurement/actuation capabilities of substrate as resources measurement/actuation capabilities of resources • Must include realtime capability quantification • Conform to MDOD - actuation? • Allow experimenter to specify inclusion of such resources in slice • Allow experimenter to “hook up” measurement capabilities with protocols inside stack (pSor XML-RPC), similarly actuation capabilities (OMF or XML-RPC) • Allow IMF-controllable actuation resource to be viewable and controllable through an OMF experiment July 28, 2011
Experiments planned for Spiral 3 • No outside researcher experimenters as of now • No multiple aggregates as of now (but possibly after I&M architecture emerges) • Integrate IMF capabilities into LEARN testbed • Already collaborating with LEARN • Interfacing / using IMF in CentMesh (outdoor wireless mesh testbed at NCSU) - started July 28, 2011
