English 10 - 12/9/13 • Respond to the poetry video. • The old farmer tried fish farming once, but had to give it up when his combine kept getting stuck in the lake. • Autology – the scientific study of oneself. Goals –Recite your first poem to multiple individuals. Try to do it from memory. Homework – Recite your poem from memory. Prepare to recite for class tomorrow. Don’t forget to Study for vocab. 14 Friday.

  2. English 10 - 12/10/13 • Respond to the poetry video. • What do you call a snow man that has been bitten by a vampire? • Ululate – to howl or hoot. Goals –Recite your first poem for class mates. Homework – Recite your poem before going to bed.

  3. English 10 - 12/11/13 • Respond to the “If you should have a daughter…” video. • Did you hear about the corduroy pillows? • Tintinnabulation – The sound of bells ringing. Goals –Let the contest begin! Homework – Begin preparing your second poem for recital next week.

  4. English 10 - 12/12/13 • Respond to the “If” video. • Why did the scarecrow get invited to Poetry Out Loud? • Tinnitus – a ringing sound in the head. Goals –Recite your second poem with partners. Evaluate a poetry recitations. Check for accuracy and tone. Homework –Write your second poem from memory on your daily work paper. Recite it before going to bed. Quiz #14 tomorrow.
